I am super excited to announce the first ever giveaway at runbikerace.com, and it’s a big one! Polar has released a limited edition version of their RC3 GPS HR monitor for the 100th anniversary of the Tour de France in 2013. This comes as a kit with the H3 Heart Rate Sensor, the CS Cadence sensor for your bike, and a universal bike mount to attach the watch your handlebars. Of course the watch and HR strap can be used without a bike as well. Thanks to the awesome folks at Polar Canada, I have a brand new one to give away to one lucky reader.
For more information on this awesome watch, check out the Polar Tour de France RC3 website.
I’m using the RC3 now so look for a future gear review on this watch, but in the meantime you have a chance to get one of your own.
Here is how to enter the giveaway:
- Each individual reader can have up to three entries
- Leave a comment on this post – let me know what kind of training you would use the RC3 for if you won it and let me know if you are claiming any of the next 2 entries. Please leave your valid email address so I can contact you.

That’s all you have to do for up to 3 chances to win. Enter before May 3rd, 2013 at midnight (Eastern Standard Time). I will use random.org to generate a random number, and the corresponding entrant wins the watch. I’ll cover shipping to wherever the winner lives. Please remember to mention how many entries you qualify for in the comment you leave on this post.
If I am unable to make contact with the winner within 3 days, I will choose another random number and corresponding entrant. Please leave your valid email address with the comment so you don’t miss out.

Hey there…
Would use is for swim, bike, run as well as epic trail running and kayaking.
Have used Polar HR products in past… great product.
Following on both fb and twitter.
Cheers.
I’d love to take the RC3 for a test for both cycling and running. At present I use a Garmin 410 for running and a Garmin 500 for cycling. Would love one device that does both well, but haven’t ventured to a Garmin 910. I find the Garmin Connect piece doesn’t always work as well as I’d like, but the combo cadence speed sensor really works well. Would just like to see how this compares on all fronts. As for events, I’ll do a few 100-200k Fondo type events this year and I run 4x a week, with some road and trail races on the horizon, so I guess I’d be using this 6-7x a week in all sorts of conditions.
I’ve followed you on Twitter and will tweet the entry right after I submit this, though I do tend to manage contacts I don’t know through lists. I don’t use FB, so hopefully Twitter will be enough for the entry.
I will be eligible for the 3 entries. I would love to be able to train with this watch for spiny triathlons and use it to work my way up to longer races!
Great blog, just found it! I’m a runner but moving into duathalon and triathlon so this would be perfect for all round training!! Many if I continue reach for an ironman, time will tell on that one!!

RC3 TdF polar looks like an amazing piece of equipment. I would be using it for all the running and cycling I do.

Hey Kent! Sweet blog… and a sweet watch too!
I’d love using this watch to replace my trusty (but unfortunately worn-out) Polar RS200. Looks like it’d be a phenomenal upgrade for a data nerd like me!! I have been using a Garmin 10 on the run but I really miss having the HR data and prefer the Polar interface on wrist units!
Hope this qualifies me for an entry! Have a great weekend!
Hi,
I would use the RC3 TdF mainly for cycling, but just planning to start some running training program also.I like its integrated GPS, and the yellow design 🙂
Hey Csaba
