Team905 partners with Rumble for 2014

Team905 Cycling will have a new way to recover in 2014 thanks to a partnership with a rapidly-rising Canadian nutrition company.

Victoria-based Rumble has come on board as a team sponsor for the upcoming season and will provide Team905 riders with its Vanilla Maple and Dutch Cocoa recovery drinks. The company was founded in 2012 by Paul Underhill, a cyclist with an incredible personal story of living with Cystic Fibrosis and surviving a double-lung transplant.

It was during his recovery that Underhill came to the realization there were no options for a tasty, sustaining drink with natural products. He joined forces with a naturopath, a food genius and a businessman to launch Rumble, which got a major boost in December when the brand was featured on the popular CBC television show Dragon’s Den. As it continues to spread brand awareness across the country, Rumble partnered with Team905 Cycling as a team sponsor.

“Rumble has been enthusiastically embraced by the cycling community in B.C. From everyday recreational cyclists, through to Olympic and professional racers, cyclists of all levels have discovered the benefits of Rumble. However, beyond B.C., it’s still a bit of a secret,” Underhill said. “This partnership with Team905 allows us to expand awareness of Rumble to cyclists in Ontario.”

Team rider Dan Dakin, who first met Underhill while the pair rode across the Rockies in 2013 as part of GearUp4CF, a fundraising ride for Cystic Fibrosis research, said the team is extremely excited to have Rumble come on board. “We always want to make sure we’re partnering with companies we’re proud to represent, and Rumble is a fantastic example of that,” said Dakin

One of the big benefits to Rumble is the drink is served in reusable and recyclable bottle. Rumble is also a member of the 1% for Hunger initiative, which means 1% of all sales are donated back to charities that fight hunger.
