Who am I?

My name is Kent. I am a Father of 2 – by far family is my top priority. In my free time I work in a land of cubicles. In the time that is left, I try to stay in shape by going as fast as I can on my bike or on my feet.

I live in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada which has a ton of great places to run and ride and lots of nearby racing options. It also has a waterfall nearby that you may have heard of!

I used cycling as a means of staying in shape for years, but found that after we had kids it was harder to get out for a long ride. I took up running a few years ago as something I could after the kids went to bed. This soon led to racing in a few 5K’s, then half-marathons, and soon I was hooked! I also compete in duathlons when time permits. Someday I will learn how to swim efficiently so I can get into triathlons. Over the past year I have shifted my focus from running on the road, to trails. I have also begun my long term goal of running a 100 mile ultra. I finished 2 50km trail ultras in 2012 and have plans to tick off a couple of 50 milers in 2013. Running has gone from something I did as an alternative to multi-hour bike rides, to having the same time demands!

I appreciate everyone who reads what I share on runbikerace.com – thanks for checking it out and feel free to share your thoughts.

One response to “Who am I?

  1. Hello Kent,
Just a quick message to ask if you would be interested in a ‘mutual’ following on twitter. I am currently following you now and am awaiting for your follow-back. (#FYI I do RT’s for all #Triathletes #Cyclists #UltraRunners #Marathoners & #LIVESTRONG members who follow me on Twitter and have something important they want mentioned…)

All the very best to you and yours for the rest of 2012 and beyond Kent. Look forward to hearing from you…
